Take It Easy: “Bochi Bochi” is Wisdom for the Body
Rest and relaxation are important medicine for body, mind, and emotional balance
There is an inner healer, a source of wisdom, within every one of us, waiting to be summoned or tuned into. Many people today live in a constant state of tension without realizing it.
Learning to take things more easily helps the nervous system return to balance. This “doctor” knows balance, and encourages us to relax. When the nervous system settles, the body’s natural healing responses work more effectively. There is a Japanese expression that expresses this prescription: Bochi-Bochi — take it easy.
We know that a lifestyle which includes regular physical activity, a bit of weight training, sufficient hydration and a balanced diet which contains portions of fermented foods (like miso, pickles, kimchee) which support the gut microbiome and strengthen immune response —is important. And can be set into our routine--no matter our age.
Illness does not arise only from the physical body and its DNA. It is also influenced by what the mind dwells on, the words we repeat to ourselves, and emotions that remain unresolved.
The inner healer speaks to us through feeling.
Tapping into the sensations of the body and the feeling effect of emotions, can reveal information you can use to strengthen your well-being.

Take several slow cycles of breath, which brings you present, clearing mental chatter, even if only temporarily
Ask yourself: “How do I feel? “
Be open to any answer that may come up—from body, mind and/or emotions.
